1950s Stature of Elegance
This 1950s wedding gown by Bianchi of New York is a stunning example of mid-century elegance and refined craftsmanship. Made from rich satin, the dress features a full sweeping skirt with deep pleats that create volume and movement, evoking classic bridal romance. The bodice is exquisitely tailored with a boat neckline and quarter length sleeves. In the back, a row of covered buttons adds delicate detail while a soft bow at the waist anchors a dramatic watteau train that flows gracefully to the floor. This distinctive train style adds an ethereal and statuesque quality to the silhouette. The overall look is timeless and graceful reflecting the sophisticated simplicity that defined Bianchi’s bridal designs.
The dress is modeled here with a boned underbodice and crinoline to achieve the authentic 1950s look. Please note that these undergarments are not included with the dress, but I’m more than happy to recommend shops where you can find similar pieces to recreate this silhouette.
This dress is in amazing condition and there are no major flaws to mention. Please note all items are vintage and might have minor signs of wear due to its age.
There are some faint marks on the underside of the dress where the hem has touched the ground, these are not noticed when worn. There is also a very small pinhole on the bodice, it seems the original bride might have worn a broach there. There is a faint mark in the train of the skirt but this goes unnoticed unless you are inspecting the fabric. Please refer to photos.
