1953 Heirloom Certified Gown
This dress was featured in our fashion show fundraiser and 100% of its profits will be donated to the Emmanuel Home of Protection in Nicaragua. This is a safe home for young girls who have been abused and impregnated usually by family members. The home provides a safe environment for the girls to grow and heal from the traumas they've experienced.
Originally worn in November 1953, The dress features a fitted bodice with floral lace appliqués. Sheer sleeves extend and button at the wrist. A subtle basque waist leads into a full tulle skirt and small train. Covered buttons gracefully secure the dress in the back.
The dress was stored in an heirloom sealed box and was preserved beautifully. The package will include the official heirloom certification from November 1953. This dress is in great condition and the only sign of wear is some slight discoloration as the dress has more of an ivory tone now. Please note all items are vintage and might have minor signs of wear due to its age.
Measurements
Bust 32 inches
Waist 24.5 inches
Length from shoulders to hem 56 inches
The dress is modeled with a crinoline to achieve the authentic 1950s look. Please note these undergarments are not included with the dress, but I’m more than happy to recommend shops where you can find similar pieces to recreate this silhouette.
