1950s Lucky Clover Gown
This gown is without question one of the most breathtaking vintage wedding dresses we’ve ever had the honor of offering. An original 1950s ivory bridal gown, it features a beautifully tailored bodice adorned with lace appliqués that elegantly frame the neckline and bust. Short cap sleeves add the perfect touch of vintage charm to this timeless dress. The nipped waist flows into a dramatic six-tiered full skirt, with each tier trimmed in intricate “clover” lace. A row of fabric-covered buttons runs down the back, leading to a classic basque waistline that extends into a stunning, layered train.
The dress is modeled here with a boned underbodice and crinoline to achieve the authentic 1950s look. Please note that these undergarments are not included with the dress, but I’m more than happy to recommend shops where you can find similar pieces to recreate this silhouette.
Remarkably preserved, this gown is in excellent condition for its age. As with all vintage garments, minor signs of wear may be present. The dress has been cleaned and is ready to wear. There is faint discoloration near the hem (please refer to the photos). Some lace appliqués were beginning to lift and have been carefully hand-stitched and reinforced to ensure their longevity, an intricate restoration process that reflects the time and care invested in preserving this piece. Two very small holes were found under the tiered layers while steaming; they are hidden and unnoticeable when worn.
