1950s Graceful Beauty

Incredible 1950s wedding gown that takes heavy inspiration from the dress worn by Grace Kelly in her marriage to the prince of Monaco. The bodice features beautiful French corded lace that comes to a high neck line and has a row of faux buttons down to the waist. A pleated cummerbund waistline flows into a satin skirt with tulle Hip pads, attached inside the dress to give you an exaggerated silhouette. The back of the dress closes with a row of covered buttons and has a small train with lovely bow accents. This dress was designed by Marie of Pandora, one of my all-time favorite designers!

This dress is in overall very good condition and has been carefully restored. We began by professionally cleaning the dress to revive its color and remove stains, followed by delicate steaming. We then thoroughly examined the garment and completed minor repairs to ensure its longevity. The lace around the neckline and underarms was reinforced, along with all of the buttons on the back and wrists. We carefully steamed and hand-tacked the waistline to recreate the original pleating. A small hole on the train was repaired, as well as two small holes hidden beneath the pleating on the right hip. Finally, we secured the bows on the back of the dress so they sit properly and hold their shape. There is some discoloration on some of the buttons, these could be replaced for an additional cost. The price of the dress reflects both its condition and the time invested in its restoration. (Some of these repairs were completed after the dress was photographed.)

Please note that this dress cannot be let out without altering the sleeves. If the dress is too small, strain may cause the lace on the sleeves to tear, as arm fit must also be taken into consideration.
