1950s Ballgown & Cape Set

This breathtaking 1950s vintage wedding gown is the epitome of mid-century bridal elegance. Made from soft white tulle and adorned with tiers of delicate scalloped lace, the dress features a classic full-skirted silhouette and a fitted bodice with long illusion lace sleeves. The bateau neckline and nipped waist create a timeless hourglass shape that flatters from every angle. What makes this gown truly special is its detachable cathedral-length lace cape, adding dramatic movement and romantic flair. Trimmed with the same vintage lace as the gown itself, the cape drapes gracefully from the shoulders and can be removed for a second look, perfect for transitioning from ceremony to reception. The cape attaches to the shoulders with hooks hidden by small bow accents.

The dress is a white tone, please refer to the photos of the dress hanging for its true color. We used vintage film to photograph the dress on the model, and the color was distorted.

The dress is modeled here with a boned underbodice and crinoline to achieve the authentic 1950s look. Please note that these undergarments are not included with the dress, but I’m more than happy to recommend shops where you can find similar pieces to recreate this silhouette.

Remarkably preserved, this gown is in excellent condition for its age. As with all vintage garments, minor signs of wear may be present. The dress has been cleaned and is ready to wear. The only sign of wear to note is a small rust mark on the shoulder where the metal hook connects the cape. This is very minor, please refer to photos.
